Monastery Made

What began as a role as the assistant to the founder of a bespoke skincare & wellness brand, became a larger position, automating operations and building a production back end to streamline the company's upsizing and increasing levels of production.

Assistant Role

In the process of getting to know the company, I worked by Athena Hewitt's side, going through the early paperwork, business class notes, and archival recipes to understand what I could do for her.

Her Office

Athena thrives in a little bit of chaos. It was my job to clean up around the edges. While sorting through her collections of PR packages, clothing, papers, and packaging samples, I came to understand just how much all of these decisions meant to her. This company is her baby. She went out of town for a week and I made it my mission for her to come back refreshed. Where she had done a makeshift job painting the background of her office for her zoom calls, I took the opportunity to finish the painting.

Inventory

Our team in the HQ was quite busy, producing, packaging, and shipping thousands of dollars worth of merchandise every week. I took this as an opportunity to support wherever I could. I realized that most of their systems were analog, with no digitized recipes, no lists of suppliers, and no way of knowing when they were running out of something. This created a huge hiccup in their sales, that I sought to resolve. I built out their platform on Cin7, connecting their shopify, wholesale, online store, and PR packages to a centralized software.
